Merthyr Tydfil Writing Squads

Merthyr Tydfil has two very active Writing Squads – one Welsh (Y Sgwad `Sgwennu Cyffrous ) and one English language Squad (Exciting Writing Squad). The Squads are organised by Gus Payne, Arts Development Officer, Merthyr Tydfil County Borough Council and Gus can be contacted on Gus.Payne@Merthyr.gov.uk

Recent Activities:

May 2009:  Visit to Hay Festival, workshops with Daniel Morden and Cat Weatherill
 

September 2009:  Publication of a bilingual anthology of recent work from Squad members, titled Journey to Other Places / Taith i Lefydd Gwahanol. The Squads worked with writers Phil Carradice, Ed Holden, Catrin Dafydd, Gwyn Morgan, Grahame Davies and Ifor ap Glyn. To promote the anthology, the Squad members were invited to participate in the Roy Noble radio show on BBC Wales in September to discuss their publication.
