Powys Writing Squads

Powys Writing Squads have now been running for over 10 years. There are now six squads in total: two Welsh-language and four English-language Squads (two primary and two secondary ones), divided into North and South Powys Squads. They all meet once every term.

Recent Activity:

May 2009: Visit to Hay Festival with Daniel Morden, Cat Weatherill and Twm Morys.

June 2009: Work with Rob Lewis, Phil Carradice, Francesca Kay and Chris Kinsey.

November 2009: Work with Kate Williams, Chris Kinsey, Rob Lewis and Phil Carradice.

June 2010: Workshop at Hay Festival with Tom Barrance and Francesca Kay, producing poetry films. To view the films produced, photographs from the workshop and further details please click here.

June 2010: North Senior group worked with Phil Carradice, and North Junior group worked with Francesca Kay.

July 2010:  The South Squads worked with Phil Carradice and Francesca Kay at the Brecon Beacons Mountain Centre, using the countryside around them as inspiration for their writing.
