Swansea Writing Squads

Swansea’s English language Squad was revived in 2009 in conjunction with City and County of Swansea. The Squad is run by Jo Furber of the Dylan Thomas Centre with support from the Council’s English Advisors.  Jo can be contacted on Jo.Furber@swansea.gov.uk. The team is hoping to establish an additional Squad for older children with support from Swansea Metropolitan University in the near future.

The Academi is also working closely with Menter Iaith Abertawe and we hope to establish a new Welsh language Squad in Swansea soon.

Recent Activities:

September 2009:  Participation in event at the Senedd with National Poet Gillian Clarke, Robert Minhinnick and Ceri Wyn Jones to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the National Assembly

October 2009:   The English Writing Squad participated in a workshop session with Phil Bowen.

September/October 2010: The English Writing Squad worked with Paul Henry.
