VALE OF GLAMORGAN
Vale of Glamorgan Writing Squads
There are three Writing Squads in the Vale of Glamorgan, one Welsh language Squad and two English language Squads, one of which was set up in September 2009, due to an increased demand from schools.
The Welsh Squad is run by Ceri Anwen James from Ysgol Bro Morgannwg and the two English language Squads are run in association with the School Improvement Service of the Vale of Glamorgan County Borough Council. Recent Activities:
October 2008: The Welsh Squad took part in a workshop with Mererid Hopwood and Tom Barrance (Media Education Wales), as part of Academi’s Bay Lit Fesitval.
March 2009: The English Squad worked with Kate Williams.
June 2009: The English Squad worked with Phil Carradice.
October 2009: Glyn Scott worked with both English Squads.
November 2009: The Welsh Squad is currently working with a composer and poet Ceri Elen, to create an ‘anthem’ to celebrate the fifth birthday of Cardiff’s Wales Millennium Centre.
March 2010: Workshops with Daniel Morden (both English Squads).
June 2010: The English Squad worked with Dylan Adams.
